Otay Ranch Youth Football and Cheer was notified on March 25, 2011. That Miss. Julia Tavares (All-American Cheer for the 2010 Season ) has been selected by the American Youth Football (AYF) at the National level as one of their Academic All-American (AAA) Honors winners. 

In order to be considered for our Academic All-American honors all scholar athletes must have a 98 percent or higher grade point average while making a mark in their local communities. All of the AAA winners exhibit AYF’s four pillars of achievement – academics, respect, discipline, and performance. To be considered for these scholarship awards these scholars exemplified Academics, Sportsmanship and Community.

The next open registration is tentatively scheduled for April 10th (Time and Location TBD).

Otay Ranch Broncos will be hosting Free Sports Physicals for Football Players and Cheerleaders on June 11, 2011 at the Otay Ranch High School – Stay tuned more information to follow.

Please ensure that you check your application and make sure that it is readable and that it is in the correct format (you may have to adjust your print margins to .5 on the left and right margins to get it to print properly).  Also ensure that you bring the required documents with you, bring the (Original Birth Certificate and 3 Copies).   Please read your email that is sent to after your register which will include all the forms that you are required to bring with you for registration.  We will not be able to print any forms, we will not have extra copies or will we be able to make copies.  Failure to bring the required documents we will NOT be able to register your player or cheerleader.

The 2011 Season is off to a great start so far, and we are all counting the days till conditioning week begins.  One recurring  theme I received in speaking with members of your Board of Directors and many of  you Parents is the flow of information.  Better yet, what is going on within our association.  With that said, I will publish a reoccurring President’s Update and pass information that you, the player, cheerleader and parent will find useful.  

Since the first week of  January, your board has been busy getting for the upcoming 2011 Season.  We have been going through training on our new rostering program, interviewing  prospective head coaches, working with the high school, and getting ready for all the new and exciting changes for the 2011 season.  One of the main ways in which we will be communicating is through our website.  Please continue to check it out on a regular basis as we will post up to the minute information that effects you.

As you have seen on the website, registration begins on March 6, 2011 for football and cheer.  We have kept our prices the same for the third year in a row with one big exception.  Registration for Flag is $200 and Tackle is $280.  Parents, you have spoken and we have listened, the one big exception this season is Registration for Cheer is $100 (this does not include a uniform).  We are keeping prices in check because we know how hard this economy is effecting everyone.

As you have seen on the website, teams will be formed by grades this season and will have unlimited weights except for Mitey Might and Jr. Pee Wee.  We fully expect to fill all of our teams quickly this season as Otay’s reputation as the best Organization  continues to grow.  We have already received numerous requests to be part of the Bronco family.  Please do not wait too long to register.

Registration will be online.  Please follow the directions online and continue to watch the website as to where our registration events will be taken place.  When you come to registration, please bring Three (3) copies of all the forms that you will print off after your register on line, Three (3) 1X1 Color Photos “Head Shot of your Child”, Birth Certificate “original with seal”, and two proofs of residency (Mortgage statement, utility bill, etc.)  Please brings these items with you, as without them you will NOT be able to register.  While we will take team requests, there is NO guarantee that you will be placed on the team.  Returning players will be given the opportunity to request a team but again there are no promises.
